Happy March!!

Hi all,

Its been a while since I last posted here. My goal this year is to take this blogging thing serious and post more frequently. With that said, I hope you enjoy my very first post of 2017.

March is here which means we are closer to the Spring!! Yay!! 😊😊 I have to say I've been extremely enjoying the mild weather we have been experiencing in the last couple of weeks. With that said, I would like to share with you an outfit I wore this last weekend. I gotta admit it was nice to not have to walk out the house with a heavy coat. Hope you enjoy this #ootd

Black and White

Hey Dolls,

Hope everyone is having a great holiday season. I can hardly believe christmas is over and 2015 is in 2 days. 2014 has been a great year and I am praying for an even better 2015.
2014 saw me evolve in many ways especially style wise. Most noticeably I have found myself gravitating towards wearing neutral colors. Don't get me wrong I still love my bright colors but have been loving the blacks, greys and whites this year.. On that note here is an outfit I wore over the holiday weekend.

Wearing dress from Old Navy, BCBG shoes from DSW, Crop sweater from H&m and DKNY Coat from Marshalls.

Hope everyone has a blessed New Year!!

Strawberry Festival

Hey loves,

Hope you are all having a great week. Mine has been hectic to say the least. I guess I underestimated how hectic summer classes are. I have been working on so many assignments and a paper.  I am already counting down to July 3rd... Last day of class!!

On another note, I am very excited about this weekend. I mentioned in my last post that I will be a vendor at upcoming festivals. Well this Saturday June 14th, I will be setting up shop at the South windsor Strawberry festival. It's going to be my first time vending at this festival. From what I hear its quite a popular event. I will be there from 9.00am to 5.30pm  Please do stop by our booth and  check out all the exciting  new accessories we have for the summer. There will be lots of sales and much more.

Hope to see you there!!

Happy June

Hi loves,

It's the beginning of a new month which means we are getting closer to summer!! Yay!!The winter was harsh and spring has pretty much been non existant.

Today was my first day of summer classes and even though am excited about it being an online class, am a little nervous having never taken an online class before. Not sure what to expect. All I know it's going to be hectic since it's a a whole semester work to be done in five weeks.

What I am most excited about the warmer months are the different festivals I  attend as a vendor. This month I will be doing two shows. Will be updating you when and where.

Are you looking forward to anything or celebrating something special this month? Feel free to share in the comments below.

30 in the Big Apple

This past Monday I hit a milestone I turned 30!!YESS the dreaded 30s. * takes a deep breath.  It's unbelievable how time flies.
I decided to celebrate my big day on Sunday as my birthday happened to fall on a Monday and had a school presentation to do. Way to celebrate an important milestone birthday right? Anyway the beau and I left for New York early Sunday morning. Was a 2 hour drive and we arrived and checked into our hotel at 11.30am. The hotel we stayed at was gorgeous and is smack in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city. It had a great vibe to it and the staff were so sweet. Our room was on the 15th floor with one of the most comfortable beds. James and I loved how techy the room was. You controlled everything from closing the blinds, to turning the lights on and the tv using a samsung tablet. They even had a cool feature where you could change the lighting according to what mood you were going for. After playing around with all the cool stuff we headed downstairs to the bar. Honestly who doesn't love a refreshing cocktail on a Sunday morning. I got the Eastside fizz that had cucumber and lime.
We then went did the tourist thing. I especially loved going to Top of the Rock. Was a pretty cool view of the city.

We got back to our hotel about 6pm and got ready for the night. We went to Red Rooster in Harlem. They had a live band and that was playing blues. The place has a vibrant crowd. We however didn't like the fact that despite having made early reservations we were seated on a table with 5 other people. We could barely hear what we were saying to each other and was a bit uncomfortable being in close proximity with people we didn't know. The food on the other hand was off the charts. I got to eat chicken and waffles for the first time and I must say it was a great experience.

Now I have always envisioned my 30th birthday being this big extravaganza with lots of drinking and hard partying. It was however the total opposite very low key.

Months leading to my birthday I went back and forth about what I wanted to do for my birthday. I got so stressed out about planning to have the perfect birthday that I started  contemplating not doing anything and staying home. Thank God my beau wasn't having none of that. When turning 30 you start to compare yourself  to all the standards society has set. By 30 one has to be successful, be married, have kids and so the list goes on. A lot of my friends or former classmates are married, have kids have their masters degrees and great jobs. I on the other hand am still in school working on getting my dream job and working on getting my small business to where it needs to be. All in all I have learned and come to accept we are not set to take the same path.
On turning 30, I am hoping to celebrate how far I have come and where I hope to go. They say life begins at 30 and am ready to take on my 30s.

Special thanks to my love James for making my birthday a memorable one.

Have you recently celebrated a milestone birthday?? How did u celebrate??Would love to hear your stories in the comments
